Triple Snowday!

"Blizzard 2011", as news stations are calling it, has produced 20 inches of snow. That is more snow than I have ever seen! The snow started to pick up at around 2 or 3 PM on Tuesday. It went until around 10 AM on Wednesday. okay i'm bored of telling this story. basically, i have no school for five days (including the weekend) and I'm bored. soooooo yeah!

English Essay!

So by now, all of you have probably heard of the book-turned-movie Eat, Pray, Love! Well, my English Teacher gave us an assignment to write an essay on what your "word" is. I guess because there's a passage in the book where it's all explained. I dunno. But anyways, I just finished my essay and I think it's really delicious!

Trying to think of one word, and one word only, to describe yourself completely, including every little detail, including every bit of personality in you, is not an easy task. It may not seem that hard, but once you really dig into yourself, you want to start wishing you can making up your own word. A cross between two or even three words. A word that incorporates all of yourself in one. Believe me, it's a process, and not a particularly short one. Then out of no where, you find your word. The word that, if the other words that only described half of you were to fall in love, would be the child of those words. Your word.

Before I sat down to actually think about myself, I thought I'd ask some friends which word they would use to describe me. I asked my friends Kimmy, Josie, and Rachel. I asked my best friend, Allison. I asked my mother. I even ended up asking Twitter. I got back four responses: artsy, aberrant, unique, eccentric, and fat. Obviously I chose “fat” because I weigh 117 pounds. I'm only kidding, but it was an answer I received, which meant I took it into consideration for at least a fraction of a second.

Looking back at the other words, “aberrant” stuck out at me. To be honest, I had no idea what “aberrant” even meant. After a quick Google search, I found out that it means to “depart from an accepted standard”. I thought that word fit quite nicely into who I am, with thinking outside of the box and not following what everyone else does and what not. However, then I realized that I'm not entirely aberrant. There's obviously some things I do that most of everyone else does. I eat, I go to school, I drink Arizona Sweet Tea, I text, I wear crazy bracelets on my arms. I mean, I'm nothing like Lady Gaga. So “aberrant” is not my word.

I thought about some of the other words, “artsy” for example. Yes, I do think I display a strong interest in the arts. No, “artsy” does not explain my personality, only a piece of me. “Eccentric” and “unique” were just like “aberrant” so no, they don't describe me perfectly. Therefore, the only choice left was “fat”. Again, I'm kidding. So I thought about it for the rest of the day and half of the next day. Then I came across the word “eager” on the Ellen Degeneres Show. I knew it had something to do with having a strong curiosity and not wanting to give up, so I Googled it. “Eager” means to “want to do or have something very much”. Frankly, I really am always wanting something. Whether is be the latest high tech gadget-device-thing like an iPhone, or just a slice of pizza every once in a while. I don't believe I've ever gone a day in my over 16 years of life where I haven't constantly wanted something. Even right now, as I listen to weirdly calming Modern Indian songs on Pandora and write this essay, I'm wanting.

So I dug in deep, real deep. I thought about my life as a Junior in high school. I thought about my aspirations. I thought about what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go with my life. I thought about my life right now. I'm eager to be a Senior. I'm eager to be in college. I'm eager to fit in. I'm eager to travel to exotic places. I'm eager to live life without any cares or problems. But then again, isn't everyone? No, not everyone is eager to be an artist. Not everyone is eager to start a family and name their two daughters Delilah and Alice, and their two sons Sebastian and Samson. Not everyone is eager to live in an apartment with their best friend, own two potbelly pigs, and open up a trendy coffee shop in Chicago. That's only me. I'm eager. Eager is my word.

Well as for me, I've just been studying. I've been drowned in homework ever since the second week of school. I'm getting pretty used to it though. I actually should be studying for finals right now. ahhhhh! So this has to be quick!

But other than that boring stuff, I've made a few videos. Not a lot, because like i said, i've had sooo much homework lately. Over the holidays i had no school, so that was a wonderful and much needed break from all this BLEHHH!

I'm really starting to get really into all this video stuff. YouTube is so interesting! And it opens soooo many opportunities for sooo many people! Like.. my friend iJustine (I use the word "friend" lightly because we don't actually know each other. But we've had small conversations on the internet before). Anywhom, she was on Law and Order SVU in October, I think. ISN'T THAT SO COOL?!?!? A person just like me who started out as nothing, making it big! She's also hosted a few award pre-shows (VMA's, and I think the other one was the AMA's). And my...friend... Alyssa Bernal! She's an AMAZING singer!! You definitely need to look her up on the Tube. Bat anyways, she signed a record deal and went to London to record it! That's pretttyyyy awesome!

Well, i really should get back to studying. I've heard Chemistry finals SUCK. So Honors Chem must suck even more. eeeek! Wish me luck?

Btw... HAPPY NEW YEAR, MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY THANKSGIVING, AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Yes.. it has been that long

Hey everyone!

This is my 100th Post! woooo!
I was going to just post my new vlog up. But I wanted to actually BLOG for my 100th. not just post a vlog. but I'll do that too..

Anyways, Friday (August 7th) was my Birthday! It was great!
I woke up.
Ate pancakes.
Went on the interwebs.
Took a shower and got ready.
My friend, Katie came over.
We went on the interwebs.
I opened presents.
Candy and Money. And an iTunes Giftcard.
And a camera (video below)!
Went to TGI Fridays.
Had "Bruschetta Chicken Pasta" (Picture)!
It was yummy!
The waiters/waitresses sang Happy Birthday to me.
People clapped.
I got free Ice Cream.
Then went home.
And had cake.
That I decorated a little bit.
Because it was plain-ish.
Then watched TV with Katie.
Played Guess Who.
Drove Katie home.
Talked on the phone with my Aunt Dianne and Uncle Bob.
They gave me the camera!
And watched more TV!
And then slept.

Haha. yay!

Oh, and also, my cousin Arianna and I made a new collab channel on Youtube. We will be posting vlogs every other day. Our first video we plan on uploading tomorrow (Monday). It will be just an intro/explanation. That kinda thing. But after that, it will be vlogs and just us talking to each other.

Hello all, and welcome to the blog I have not updated in 13 days. sad.

Hmmm, what to blog about?

Well, I saw Harry Potter yesterday at midnight.

Actually it was two days ago i guess.

I liked it though! It was really good. Not the best movie in the world, but really good.

See, there was a good reason why i didn't read the books! because if i had read them, i would have already known all the surprises in this movie. but they were more of a surprise this way.

I also participated in a Guinness World Record. Actually, two records!

They were:

Most people showering simultaneously in one venue.

And biggest shower.

I won't find out if we broke the record for another couple weeks, but.. hopefully!

Even though they spelled my name wrong. (MY NAME IS NOT RYAN. gosh.)

And they put 'Kate' not 'Katie'.

Anywhom, the best part about this was that it took place at Six Flags and they gave us free tickets to both the theme park and Hurricane Harbor! Yay! Even if it did mean waking up at 5 am and showering with strangers, i got free tickets! haha!

Sooo.. new subject,

I refuse to make any more vlogs and/or other videos until i get a new camera/webcam/microphone. one of those. or all. also, until i get Adobe Premier Elements 7. which is what i want for my birthday! in three weeks! yay! mom.. dad..!

So until that happens, I'll just be blogging. Thats about it for today.

I know, It's been almost a whole month of no blogging or vlogging.
Yes, half of it was my usual defense, i am terribly lazy.
My other excuse is that i just finished finals, and i had to, err.. study.
Last reason, I was working on this new blog template. you like?
I still have some small modifications, but i thought, ehh, why not launch it today?

We have a lot of catching up to do.
I'm editing a vlog at the moment.
The reason I haven't been making vlogs is because of the above, but also because I was waiting for my friend to let me borrow adobe premiere elements 7. sadly, adobe only legally allows you to install it on two computers, so i just found out, i will not be borrowing that anytime soon. BUUUUT, I plan on maybe buying it in the near future.

OK you guys, I really need a new webcam. mine is just, blEHHHHH. not functioning when i need it to. I know I've told you thins before, but it's really starting to get on my nerves how my microphone decides to be dead one day and alive others. So after i get my camera.. soon, I will purchase the webcam. this is the one i want:

anywhoomm, i made a vlog today but of course.. my microphone didn't work. I swear, it's only tuesdays when it doesn't work! and last time my mic didn't work i was scolded by youtube for using that music :( now my video is banned in some countries.

I just cleaned my room! My aunt and uncle are coming over tomorrow from california! And my grandma and grandpa are coming from Missouri this friday. It's because my brother is graduating this Saturday! woop woop. Tomorrow is his last day of school. I still have to go to school until June 10th (not fair)!

Did anyone else watch Glee after American Idol? and if so.. did anyone think it was extremely cheesy and basically HSM but a little more grown up? did anyone like it... if you are over the age of like 13? I only watched because i like the song Don't Stop Believing. it was in all their commercials. and only once at the end of the show..!

Today was so much fun!

I took a bunch of pictures and videos, but i am way too tired to edit them into a vlog right now. Hopefully I'll get to that tomorrow.

I finished the 5K in 42:43 (mm:ss). I could have done it in around 30 min, i believe, but i was jogging/walking/sprinting but mostly walking with my sister the whole time.

My dad ran the marathon in i think 4 hours and 28 minutes. woooo!

Blehh, I'm extremely tired even though i slept most of the drive back from Wisconsin.

Heyy! Im in Wisconsin! The Tundra Lodge has "High-speed" wireless internet. Not really speedy... but thats ok.

Sorry I've been posting nothing but vlogs lately. But yay, I finally get to do a normal-ish post!

Soooo, the reason I'm in Wisconsin is because tomorrow, at 7 a.m. I'm going to be running in the Green Bay Marathon. Im only doing a 5k though, which is the first 3 miles... as apposed to 26.2 miles, which is the full marathon.
Ahhhhh, I'm so excited. My bib number is something in the 13,000's. so there is going to be A LOT of people running. I'll take tons of pictures and stuff. I'm going to be running with my camera on the course so you can pretend you're there too. haha. Last year, my mom did the 5k and my dad did the marathon, while me and my sister watched. This year me, muh sister, and muh mother are doing the 5k and my dad is doing the full marathon again! yay! Anyways, what i was getting to was that, at the end of the 5k (and marathon/half marathon), you get to run IN Lambeau stadium. Like.... ON the field. should be fun!

Now, i must sleep.. i have to wake up at 6. grr.

Sooooo, I'm getting straight A's this year.. unless I, at the last moment, fail all my classes. but that's unlikey!
And I get a present at the end of the school year to congratulate me on my straight A's. And i get to pic it out. Last year, I got a laptop (as you know)... well half a laptop, i had to pay the other half. But that's because that was 1,000 and something dollars. These are only $500-$450. teehee.

I really need a new camera. I've had the same one for around 4 years. Then it recently broke about 3 months ago. Then my cousin sent me her old one. And my sister dropped it but it still works. It's just not functional and not what i want. and the battery life is aweful. And i'm pretty sure im just repeating myself now..

But anyways, ahh, help me decide which i want more. i've already reviewed all the specs many times and they both sound great. it's just one has this, and one has that. i wish all the features were combined into one nice looking camera. and then given to me for free :). kthnxbye.

I'm kinda leaning towards the nikon at the moment, but i'll keep you updated.

It's on May 6th. Thats next week i think. and it's at my schoolio. and they have free cupcakes! (ew, but they made the cupcakes on monday. and froze them. so i hope they taste good in a week. blehh)

Yesterday was Earth day! I made a vlog but I had no internet so I couldn't post it. and now it's too late to post a vlog about a holiday one day late.
How was your guys' Earth day? I started to grow an apple tree. yay!

Yay! Happy Easter everyone!

Finally, lent is over. That was the longest 40 days. ever. And now I can go back to my usual FaceBook routines and daily ice cream eating. haha.

So throughout lent, I've been getting all kinds of e-mails from FaceBook. From friend requests to their random little app updates. So I thought there'd be like a billion notifications in the notification box. This morning, at around 1 am, I couldn't resist, I had to check!! So I did, and this is what I found:

Alli came over today! Yay!

The initial reason for her coming to my house was to edit a video, since her computer doesn't have a video editing program. So she brought over this video camera, and it was super old. It recorded videos on these almost cassette type things. They were called 8mm MP tapes. or somthing. And there was no way of getting the video onto my computer. Sooo... we brain stormed and tried to figure out how to get it to be on my computer, with no chords, because none of the chords plugged into my computer. So anyways, the video was never put onto my computer...FAIL.

And then we played outside.. (hacky-sack)! and we made a couple videos, none of which were very relevant. at all..! I might edit them later and post it.

Then we made pizza! yumm! It was heart shaped, with a little face on it. actually, it was a broken heart. haha. Its was good except it had a LOT of flour on the bottom.

So that was my day, how was yours?

Today was april fools day. Just in case you didn't know already. And I like how so many people are just so gullible. They're just so unexpecting when it comes to april fools day jokes. Even the really obvious, lame jokes. I got a few people to actually fall for the old "Your shoe is untied" thing. Also, the "your shirt's on backwards" worked well. Its fun! My mom even fell for "Today I got suspended". Goshhh.. seriously.. could you make it any easier?!?! Ha, sorry, I'm rambling again.

So I haven't posted in about a week. Truthfully, I have no excuses to use this time. I've just been lazy. Even though I've been on the computer everyday, I have no idea what to blog about. So I just haven't been blogging. BUT, I have been vlogging. sorta. Do you like the vlogs? tell muh.

Yesterday I took the train down town to chicago with Allison and Kayllan. Fun times!
We went kinda everywhere. First we went to this little art store then too this fun store filled with random goodies! Then we walked around Millennium Park and wandered around to this Italian Bistro sorta. I had this really really good sandwich. It was great! Then we went to The Bean and took some pics. After that we went to the Apple store, Urban Outfitters, and some other shops. Then we hailed a taxi (first time!) and headed over to Navy Pier. Haha, and Alli left her camera in the taxi so we called some taxi companies for a while, but no luck in finding it. The ferris wheel in navy pier is really kinda amazing. After that we mostly walked around and found the Hershey's Store. Then we got another cab ( verrrryyyy creepy driver by the way) and went back on the train. The train headed home was really fun. We laughed non stop and people looked at us like we were crazy! hah fun fun fun!

My Little Adventure

So yesterday, since the weather was so nice, I went for a "little walk".

My dad and little sister were going to ride their bikes and my mom was going to jog. I decided to jog also. I had no idea it was going to be like 50 miles. If I would have know, I would have rode my bike. So here I am, joggin along with a camera in one hand, iPod in the other, trying to make sure my phone doesn't fall out of my hoodie's pocket while running. And trying not to fall (haha last time i ran...well.. just read this).

After about a couple miles I realized this wasn't some "little walk". Goshh. Now my legs hurt.

Hehe, yeah, that was my adventure. You probably thought it was going to be exciting. It wasn't.

Oh yeah, and like literally within the last five minutes of this jog, my sister dropped my camera and broke the top. ( I put it in her bike's basket thing in the front because i didn't want to hold it, and she went over a bump and it fell out). So now i officially have no camera. Again. except for my phone. ahhghghg.

I just turned on my camera and, it works! Its just broken at the top. but it still works!

Oh and just so you know, I had planned on walking the whole time so i could take pictures along the way. But my parents and sister kept going really far up ahead of me and i didn't want to get lost. so i had to run. boo hoo.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take any pictures because i was focused on running. haha. and there was nothing to take pictures of.

I know I've said this many times before.. but those were lies *gasp*. Well, not at the time.

But this time I PROMISE (maybe..) to post at least twice or three times a week.

However, this means most of the posts will be of no interest. Not like they aren't already. They'll just be more uninteresting. Don't get me wrong.. some of them might be pretty interesting. I just never have ideas on what to blog about. And since my microphone on my webcam isn't working well, I can't do any vlogs.

Hopefully, I can get that fixed or buy a new webcam (preferably this). I think it would be fun to do some vlogs and post them on youtube and stuff.

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I am on Thanksgiving break at the moment. I have all week off! wooo! I am going to Missouri ( I always have trouble spelling that, so if i'm wrong please correct me) on Wednesday. I might bring my laptop and hope for internet on the road. Please hope for my internet connection also! Haha.

Can you believe there is only about one month until... CHRISTMAS?!?!?! Yay! I want a few things but they are kinda expensive... a new phone, camera, unlimited texting. That last one is like a must because I don't have texting at all ( I know, thats sorta rare nowadays.). Also, one of my favorite stores is Urban Outfitters (hint hint =D) I like almost anything there. I also like H&M ( another hint hint! ha. FACT- H&M stands for Hennes and Mauritz! I found that out by reading the tag on one of my shirts from H&M.).

Hey, just a quick update, I finally had time to fix my website! It looks ten times better and I made it ALL by myself, no help. I'm so proud of myself. haha. IMPORTANT: if you have any web browser other than Internet Explorer (i.e. Firefox, Safari, etc.) then don't even bother checking my website, it looks so terrible, everything is all mixed up and it has weird fonts. For some reason, it only works on Internet Explorer. Weird, i no. ughh.

HAPPY AUGUST!! yay! finally!!! My birthday is in 4 days. I don't really have a birthday list really. I just want a new phone and money =). I will be 14 woo hoo! I have no idea what I am doing on my birthday though... usually I have it all planned out. haha. I think I might go down town... to Chicago, but then again... I have no idea!!! I am not having a birthday party, I might just get together with friends and go eat and see a movie or something. I don't know. It is sooo hot here! I am currently on my new laptop!!! And may I just say, OMG!!! The picture quality is amazing and it is sooooo fast!!!! The blog has never looked better! WOW.

I have a 17" (HUGE) HP Pavilion dv9000 Entertainment PC. I got it at Fry's, THANK YOU FRY'S! I am extremely happy with the laptop, if anyone out there is searching for a laptop, an HP is my recommendation!

Well if you have a webcam, tell me and we can video chat! whoo hoo! OK, I gotta finish setting this thing up, ttyl!

I'm talking about SUMMER!!! Whoo hoo! I can't wait!

So anyways,

Happy June! and Happy birthday Katie (May 30th)!!! I have done a lot since last time I've posted. I went to Six Flags Great America and rode superman twice, batman twice, the raging bull, the new darknight rollercoaster, and some other ones that I can't remember. It was really fun, I went with my school on Wednesday, May 28th. On friday (May 30th/KT's b-day) I went to the 8th grade formal dance at school. That was fun too! Oh yeah, I am OFFICIALY a high schooler! I graduated last friday! So tomorrow is the last day of school, except for the extra hour we don't really have to go to on tuesday to make up for the snowdays we had. Then on wednesday I have a dentist appointment and I AM GETTING MY HAIR CUT... SHORT... AAHHHHHHHHHHH! I will put pictures up on here when I get it cut.

I am 99% sure that I got straight A's so that means MACBOOK! But I still don't klnow what my P.E. grade is so I just have to wait, and wait =(. I heard there will be new MacBooks on June 9th along with a new iPhone! Yay!

I woke up at 6:00 this morning. My friends Katie and Nikki called me and told me they were coming to my house. Last night I was talking to them and talked them into paying 25 bucks to do a 5k with me. So they came at 7:00 a.m. and we went to this 5K thing. I was all worked up to finish and what not, I was just happy I was with my friends. (this is the funny part.) Finally, at 8:00, the race thing started. Not even 1 minute into the thing I fell (that was the funny part). I scraped up my nees on thee pavement and my hands. LOL I , sadly, was more afraid of breaking my iPod than hurting my self. Fortunatley, my iPod is ok! I finally finished after 1:31 ( 1 Hour and 31 Minutes)!

P.S. A 5K is 3 miles

YAY! then I went outside for a little while and made my sister mad... I always seem to accomplish this... anyway, Then I went and played Frisbee Golf with my brother and dad. Then I got home and started my homework. Then I ate dinner, I had Tri-Tip (is that how you spell that?) from Missouri and from Santa Barbara (the one from Santa Barbara was better!). For those of you who don't know what that is, it is meat... really really gooooood meat, you can buy it at Trader Joes and Costco I think. Then I did a little more homework and got side tracked and went on here and fixed stuff ( I should probably be doing my homework now... maybe later! haha!). Well... thats it folks. HAPPY MARCH FIRST =)

I stayed home all day, well except when I went to Jewel-Osco (grocery store / pharmacy). I got throat losingers ( don't know how to spell that) because I have had a sore throat for a while. Anyway, I can't wait until spring! It will finaly be warm (ish) by Easter. Easter this year is my brother's birthday so I get to eat cake... and pizza, I can eat pizza on Easter because I gave it up for lint (or is that spelled lent? I can never remember). I came so close to giving up last night and eating pizza but I decided to make ravioli! I have nothing to do so I'm playing solitare. I like when I win because it does that thing on the screen where all the cards go wild for like 5 minutes (it only works if you are playing the Windows version on your PC). So have you heard of that REALLY thin laptop? The MacBook Air? I am hoping to get that at the end of the school year if I get straight A's! My dad agreed that he will pay 75% of the cost which is $1,799. So I have to save a lot of money up. I'm almost to half of what I need.haha. Ok well I have to go and eat diner now. So, how's life? I'm trying to get over a cold but other than that I'm pretty good I guess. Did anyone watch the grammy's on febuary 10th? I thought it was great! I'm in need of a vacation! I have to get away from the snow, it snows just about everyday here in Chicago. I haven't seen the grass or leaves in WEEKS!! Aaaaaahhhh I need sun, it's too cold, it's been just over three years and I still have not adjusted to freezing after being outside for literaly 5 seconds, I don't think I ever will. Do you remember that girl who was crying on American Idol and got extremely lucky?

Ashley Ferl is a 13-year-old girl who has
become known for crying during Sanjaya
Malakar's and other contestants' performances on the Top 11 episode
of American Idol 6. Ferl's family, who are from Riverside,
California, obtained tickets on a website to attend the dress
rehearsal of the program. Since Ferl cried a great deal at the rehearsal,
producers offered her family seats for the final taping of the episode.
Ferl
started to cry not long after Malakar began his performance of "You Really Got
Me," and was invited to hug him on stage immediately following his
performance. She was also shown crying for several more contestants. At the end
of the show, she went on stage a second time, and got a chance to hug and get
autographs from of all of the contestants and was introduced to the judges.
Television vans from E!, Access
Hollywood, and Fox
were waiting outside of her house the next day, and, that evening, NBC paid for
Ferl's entire family to fly to the taping of the Today
Show. She subsequently gave several other radio and news interviews
to sources such as MSNBC, Fox News
Channel, and Entertainment
Tonight.
Saturday Night
Live spoofed both Malakar and Ferl following the former's
elimination. Kristen Wiig
portrayed Ferl in the sketches. Ferl has also been spoofed on The Ellen
DeGeneres Show, Live with
Regis and Kelly, and Family Guy, as
well as mentioned on Best Week
Ever.
Ashley Ferl returned during Malakar's performance in the finale,
crying.
